Kitchen Concrete Countertop

Will my concrete countertop stain? Or scratch?

Our concrete countertops are finished with two types of sealer the toped off with a wax. First we use a penetrating sealer that densifies the surface to help against staining. Then we place a topical food grade sealer on top of the concrete countertop for scratch resistance. Finally we use a food grade wax for an added barrier for that extra little protection.

Is there any maintenance to consider with a concrete countertop?

Yes, just like any granite and marble countertop, concrete countertops need to be rewaxed every now and then.

Would a concrete countertop be too rough for a kitchen or bathroom countertop?

The top finish of a concrete countertop is not limited to the types of surfaces that you see outside. We can achieve remarkably smooth surfaces, like a granite countertop, with our concrete countertops or if preferred there can be some light to even rough texture (like a slate stone) to it. There are also shape and inlay options that can truly create a unique and personalized countertop.

How thick are concrete countertops?

Our concrete countertops are 1 1/2" thick. A concrete countertop does weigh more than standard countertops so the cabinets may need to be reinforced.

Why should I choose a concrete countertop over marble or granite countertops?

Simple, a concrete countertop can be anything you want it to be! What I mean is a concrete countertop can be personalized to each and every individual. They can be any shape, color, or texture. Concrete countertops can even have other materials imbedded (like fossils, colored glass, and metal) into it. A concrete countertop can patterned, stenciled, used like a painters canvas to create a work of art. The possibilities for creative expression are truly limited only by the creators imagination.

Does concrete used for stamping need to be thicker than normal concrete?

No, stamped concrete can be poured at the same thickness as a normal slab of concrete would be poured at.

Why should I choose a stamped concrete patio over a paver patio?

Aside from costing less, concrete stamped patio offers many more color, design and texture choices than a paver patio.
